Ancient India’s Vibrant socio-economic life existed more than 5000 years ago viz. Saraswati Sindhu civilization flourished initially in Gujarat, Sindh, Punjab provinces. Kautilya’s Arthashastra was popularized during Gupta’s Golden rule in India. Subsequent to the barbarian invasions witnessed by India, ArthaShastra was rediscovered only in the early 20th century from Tanjore, Tamil Nadu.
Our country has a glorious past and it has excelled in the field of philosophy, religion, culture, architecture, economic development and has contributed its best to the well being of mankind. Long back, our Country has put forth before the world the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam". Our ancestors have never been beyond the geographical limits of this subcontinent and have been interacting, communicating and transacting with the outside world in all walks of life. The country was famous all over the world as the "golden bird". The science of economics was well developed in our country even before the birth of Christ. The famous book “Arthashastra" by Kautilya is a valuable testimony of thinking of our ancestors and systems evolved by them for regulating the economic activities of the Society. The ancient guild systems, the land management systems during the middle ages should light upon the foresight of our ancestors on the issue of economy. The invaders continued to come and rule the country for an elongated period.
However other invaders imbibed the country but the Britishers during their rule of 400 years ruthlessly plundered our country having destroyed our economic foundations and the golden bird to economic deprive post our struggle for independence, our national leaders have tried to control the damage and take the country towards a summit of an economic superpower. This process is still ongoing and the current dispensation has committed itself to make our country truly Atmanirbhar in entire economic actions.
With the sacred aim of contributing towards development of our country, we have strived to establish the National Economic Forum at New Delhi registered under provisions of Indian Trusts Act.) We are a completely apolitical and Not-for-Profit organization devoted to the cause of furtherance of Public Charitable objects. It will operate and carry out its activities of an apolitical trust in Socio-Economic and Geopolitical areas at the national and international level while concentrating on India centric objectives.
The NEF will independently pursue the sole aim of reflecting the true state of Indian economy and suggest ways and means to improve the same. It will provide a platform to initiate and sustain positive developmental dialogues among all stakeholders. We will pursue to cover all economic, cultural, geo-political developments in the field of environment, energy management, policy changes developing India's businesses. Our People, Places and Programs (PPP) initiative will cover all villages, blocks, districts, states and will focus on important sectors like agriculture, education, industry, logistics, transport, maritime, ocean, hills, cyber & border security, IT & electronics, communications, health and infrastructure among others. NEF will focus on India's emerging industries like marine, aquaculture, deep oil and gas exploration, Food and Energy security, Health Care, offshore wind energy, renewable energy and underwater resources and allied fields.
In order to fulfill the aims and objectives of NEF we shall seek the cooperation of all stakeholders at national and international levels, adopt intrinsic tools of interaction, for communication and transactions by way of meetings, conferences, awareness programs throughout the country. We have thus pledged ourselves to work for the economic upliftment of the country, to achieve in letter and spirit of truly Atmanirbhar Bharat from village to national level and work for the welfare of our countrymen as well as the entire mankind.
“प्रजा सुखे सुखं राज्ञः प्रजानाम् च हिते हितम् |
नात्मप्रियम् प्रियं राज्ञः प्रजानाम् तु प्रियं प्रियम् || ”
In the happiness of his subjects lies the king’s happiness; in their welfare his welfare. He shall not consider as good only that which pleases him but treat as beneficial to him whatever pleases his subjects.
